We are Doomed!!!
That’s what many Northeasters are thinking… after an historic winter with record snowfall from New York to Washington, D.C. now the rainfall seems to be creating a bigger problem to the same cities. Record rain fell in Boston today with 2.41 inches and they continue to be under a flood warning especially for Farmington and Blackstone River. Spring is normally associated with flooding along the Red River in North Dakota (which is already near its crest and President Barack Obama has declared a state of emergency in the region) but not really with major flooding along cities like New York, Boston, and New Jersey and the runoff from the recent rainfall and snow melt will really allow creeks and rivers to remain high and we already are expecting the Pawtuxet River in Rhode Island to crest on Monday which could mean several residents being displaced from their homes just in case a disaster happens. So what’s next? My answer is: Make sure you have a plan B in case of flooding near your home and have a folder or a Ziploc bag with all your important documents just in case!
Here are some pics from the flooding in the Northeast

Raritan, NJ

On county road 287
The area of low pressure that is impacting the Northeast is also bringing cloud cover into the Midwest and Southeast but places like Minneapolis got to see the sun and that made temperatures rise to 64 degrees making it a new record for the city which previous record was 62 degrees set in 1990. Can i say… SPRING IS ALMOST HERE!!!! but we can’t party too much because the Midwest could get some snow by next weekend so let’s continue to keep our fingers crossed. It will continue to be quiet in the Midwest for the next couple of days under mainly cloudy skies but by Wednesday the sunshine will return with a vengeance.
One more thing, just in case you haven’t realized it yet, today is Daylight Savings Time so set your clock forward so you won’t be late tomorrow for work!
Have a wonderful Sunday and it is time for March Madness!
